An elegant Art Deco sterling silver and citrine drop necklace, dating to approximately the 1920s–1930s.
The necklace features a beautifully faceted oval citrine in a simple silver setting, suspended from a fine chain. Two articulated drops fall beneath, each terminating in a faceted pear-shaped citrine, creating the wonderfully fluid movement characteristic of négligée-style necklaces of the period. Similar articulated citrine necklaces are associated with Art Deco jewellery of the 1920s and 1930s.
The pale golden tones of the citrine contrast beautifully with the cool sterling silver, while the delicate chain and asymmetrical drops give the necklace an understated elegance that feels remarkably wearable today.
