A particularly elegant Edwardian 9ct gold pendant necklace, dating to the early 20th century and presented in its original fitted jewellery box.
The delicate gold chain is punctuated with tiny seed pearls and leads to an articulated pendant arrangement. At its centre is a large, beautifully faceted clear stone, surrounded by a halo of vivid green gemstones, with a further square-cut clear stone above and an articulated pear-shaped drop below.
The combination of fine chainwork, seed pearls, coloured stones and gently moving drops is wonderfully characteristic of Edwardian jewellery, when designers favoured light, feminine pieces that appeared delicate against the skin.
The survival of the original fitted box makes this an especially charming and collectable example.
Condition
Good antique condition, with age-related wear consistent with a piece more than a century old. Please refer closely to the photographs, which form part of the condition description.
