Reed & Barton Silver-Plated Ice Bucket
An elegant vintage silver-plated ice bucket by Reed & Barton, one of America’s most respected silverware manufacturers, founded in Massachusetts in 1824.
The bucket has a wonderfully architectural design, with vertical panelled detailing to the body and simple banded borders. The distinctive swing handle is finished with a charming figural animal mount, giving the piece plenty of character and making it particularly decorative when displayed on a drinks table or bar.
Originally designed as an ice bucket, today it would be equally stylish for chilling a bottle of wine or champagne, or simply displayed amongst a collection of vintage barware.

A Little History
Reed & Barton was established in Taunton, Massachusetts in 1824 and became one of the best-known American manufacturers of silver and silver-plated tableware. Its pieces were designed to bring elegance to entertaining and are particularly associated with the beautifully appointed dining tables, cocktail bars and drinks trolleys of the 20th century.

A coopered pail or barrel-form ice bucket, deliberately made to resemble a traditional wooden bucket with individual staves and horizontal bands.
The wonderful little animal on the top of the swing handle is a reclining fox holding its prey.
